One Sunday after church, I decided to go out with some people and film silly things running around in a banana suit and big white gloves that didn’t quite fit.
We drove over to our high school leaders house and asked him to come outside. As we waited, I hid down the street behind someones mailbox. When he walked outside, I jumped out from behind the mailbox, ran to him, and stopped in front of him. He immediately put his fists up.
As soon as he did this, I said, “I’m a banana! SIKE!”, and then slapped him on the back of the head (don’t worry, not hard at all), and turned around and ran to the car. I looked to my left and saw a rock barreliing down the street that he had thrown at me. It was soooo funny…
For a while, it seemed as though I was losing all of my friends. As I thought about all the things I could have done to drive them away, and reluctantly prayed, it was then I realized that God is faithful and has everything under control. I always knew God was faithul, but never really grasped it.
I found that all the ‘friends’ I knew were merely acquaintences and were only meant to be there for a moment. The Lord has brought a few real friends into my life and I am so grateful for them daily.
I guess what I want to say is something all of you already know - That God IS ALWAYS faithful. But maybe you are like I was and knew but did not realize.
My encouragement to you is to trust the Lord even when it may not make sense or may be hard. Nothing is as good as it should be - This is a rehearsal.
got sprayed in the face and mouth by a skunk. No BUENO!
I was so close to having a fun-filled day at the happiest place on earth today. I am house sitting for the jr. high pastor and wife, and their friends Keaton and Amy who are all in Huntington Beach, at a beach house embarking on an adventure to Disney Land today. I got a random text last night from my friend Keaton asking if I wanted to go on a spontaneous road trip and go to DL with them. I was about to go, until I could not get ahold of another leader to make sure they would be at church tonight to lead. But, when I could not get ahold of them, my adventure came to an abrubt halt. So, I am here in Phx today, having to go to school and get ready for a fun-filled night with the jr. highers! Maybe next time… ![]()
